Sites with Include experimental audits switched on now get two new checks.
The filename alt text audit checks against WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content. It flags images whose alt text is the image’s own filename, such as IMG_4032.jpg, which many content management systems fill in automatically. Alt text that only looks like a filename or placeholder, such as “image” or DSC_1234, is reported for you to review, with a screenshot of each image.
The orphaned tab roles audit checks against WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. It flags elements with the ARIA tab role that have no tab panel, tab panels that no tab controls, and navigation links given the tab role, which screen readers announce as tabs even though they take users to another page.
