Experimental Audit: Suspicious Accessible Names

New

Sites with Include experimental audits switched on now get a new check.

The suspicious accessible name audit checks against WCAG 2.4.6 Headings and Labels, along with 1.1.1 Non-text Content for icon-only buttons and iframes, and 2.4.4 Link Purpose for links. It flags controls whose accessible name is a leftover script value such as undefined, an unrendered template such as {{title}}, or the element’s own class name or ID. Every check that only asks whether a name exists passes these. Names that only look like code, numbered placeholders such as banner1, and names that repeat the role, such as “Close button”, are reported for you to review.
