Accessibility Testing for WordPress Sites

A11y Pulse scans WordPress sites externally, the same way Google does. There’s no plugin to install, no PHP to maintain, and no admin user to provision. You point A11y Pulse at your published URL and every page, post, and custom post type gets audited against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 every day, with prioritised issues and clear fix instructions for your developers or your theme author.

The advantage of an external scanner over a WordPress plugin is that you test what your visitors actually see, including content rendered by caching layers, CDNs, page builders like Elementor or Bricks, and any third-party scripts. Plugin-based scanners only see the WordPress admin view, which can hide accessibility issues introduced by your theme, your block editor blocks, or by JavaScript that only runs on the front end. A11y Pulse catches all of it.

A11y Pulse works with any WordPress host, including WordPress.com, WP Engine, Pantheon, Kinsta, Flywheel, SiteGround, and self-hosted installations. Behind a login? Use our scripting feature to authenticate before each scan. Once issues are found, send regression alerts to your team’s Slack or Microsoft Teams channel, or export a PDF report for your client.
